Pastor's Report: Barry Robinson

  • Much going on - CS Lewis, Table Talk, others

  • New Youth Leader Jansen Monk is on the job. Great feedback from kids and staff.

  • Intern Nolan Smith is on the job, visiting Sunday schools, and teaching one soon.

Education

  • Jesus & Me 3ʳᵈ grade & up - 6ᵗʰ, Jr high - 7-8ᵗʰ

  • Fall Festival Oct 31 outreach to local youth. Inviting ministries to set up booths. Games & such.

  • College : 14 kids getting cap & scarves

  • Started Children's choir. They will be singing soon.

Missions - Doug Crumrine

  • 12 domestic missions supported and 3 international missions – Kenya, Little Pasos in Guatemala and Greater Europe Mission.

  • Unable to support Mercy Manor with cash since AMC holds the lien. Classes & members can donate cash & time directly.

  • Letter from Rancho Brazos on historic 26 yr relationship w/ AMC

  • Rancho Brazos Gala upcoming October 22 and looking for members to attend.

  • We got a nice thank you from former Pastor Margret/ Project 44 for a “When God Calls” grant for their Liberia mission to hire 2 teachers.

  • Kenya Mission 2026 - Went very well! Video report from Mission Team.

  • 10 mission moment videos planned to show how we supported various activities in Kenya.

    • Church visit, Women’s empowerment, House building project, School feeding program and deworming, water project dedication, medical clinic, VKBC children home visit, and because international shoe project.

  • Missions forwarded 3 When God Calls requests to finance:

  • be.cause International Shoes for Kids - $6000 for 600 pairs of shoes X $10

  • Kenya Community Water Supply - $3000

  • Kenya School Community Gardens - $10

  • Suggestion from attendees for fundraiser on Kenya shoes

Finance - Dave Lemasters

  • Aug Income 115K exceeded 97K expenses

  • YTD Income 820K exceeded 766K expenses

  • Youth Leader - 5 yr salary paid from donation, not regular income

  • Rancho Brazos building sale closed with only Mercy Manor needing to finalize transfer of insurance.

  • Fundraisers - Lord's Acre Nov., Kenya Quiche Nov.

Trustees - No report

SPR - Sandi McCready

  • Successful farewell lunch for Anderia

  • Stacy: 1 yr service

  • Establishing a Kitchen coord part-time position.

  • Revised Izzy’s job description and title changed to Children's Director

  • Jansen taking over older children

  • Praise & Worship Leader - still looking, God will provide.

Other Business

  • Safety Team hosted county church coalition meeting, 5 churches, 21 people with presentation from Granbury P.D.

  • Planning annual church meeting upcoming

  • Need someone to organize a church garage sale and/or give stuff to Mercy Manor & other orgs.

Comments from Gallery:

  • Evelyn Guerin spoke on the need for manning the golf carts in both lots every Sundays. Barry to discuss the golf cart ministry with First Impressions chair.

  • Debbie Inman reported on the new Youth Director Jansen and his vision to "fill this youth building." $3000 for additional water tank. Money for Bio-Intensive center to teach / coach farming to replace given food with grown food.

Motions and Votes

  • Finance: Motion passed to authorize movement of funds from Designated Salaries to Operations to pay Youth Leader salary.
